I’m gonna beg you like you’ve never been begged before…

If you’ve read Shizzle, Inc, you’ve probably recognised the above as an almost direct quote…and if so, you’re the one I’m gonna beg – could you please, please post a review on Amazon, Goodreads or both?

I already have 13 reviews on Amazon, all positive, so it’s not about that scary initial silence, where you’re not sure that publishing your book was a good or even decent idea. It’s just that there has not been a new one posted for several weeks, I’m tired, it’s raining, and to be honest –Β just feeling a bit blah about everything. I need your help pushing along with my writing plan and you have no idea what a boost of energy it is to wake up in the morning to find out that a new review has been posted.

So if you’ve read Shizzle, Inc and liked it, could you pretty please write a few words about it? Of course, on other hand, if you’ve absolutely hated it, then I’m sure you have better things to do. I bet there’s dust behind that fridge and your sweaters need re-folding.

  1. Downloaded it! Can’t wait to read, looks like a fun one! I’d love to get another your perspective on mine too – it’s short and sweet, just 24 pages!

    • Yes you have – and thank you so much once again! If you ever come across Coen brothers, maybe mention all casual-like that they should make a movie based on it? Thank you in advance πŸ™‚

  3. Ana, I love your attitude! I’ve even pointed a couple of the authors I work with to your blog for a lesson in self-promotion. I just downloaded Shizzle, Inc. and can’t wait to start reading it!

  4. Your book is an ebook, right? Is an ereader necessary to read it…? If I get around to getting my hands on it (between studying, writing, and making art I’m a bit of a mess) I’ll definitely give it a review…. been wanting to give it a read….

    • Yes it is, but you don’t need an ereader – on the sidebar (under the link to Amazon) is the link to a free Kindle app. You can get it on your phone or laptop.

Would love for you to read and review, of course, but no pressure – I just meant this post as a nudge to some of those hundreds of people who have already downloaded it. I’m myself spread thin, so I know how it is πŸ™‚

    • Thank you so much, Hermione! I would love for you to review it of course, but didn’t mean to create any pressure – I was just hoping that some of those hundreds of people who have already downloaded it just did not get to posting a review. Will look forward to hearing what you think, once you get a chance πŸ™‚

    • Omg, thank you, Nia! I didn’t expect anyone to actually buy the book – was just hoping for some of those that have already downloaded it to post a review. You’ve made my day, thank you so much πŸ™‚

Hi Ana! Just a quick word of encouragement in the review department – my original novella has 32 reviews now (that took over a year and lots of downloads!) but I have noticed that sometimes it can be almost a month between reviews, and then a few flow in! Here’s the link if you’re interested… http://amzn.com/B00LMD7TAS (those one star reviews are killing me!)

    • Thank you Ian – I guess I’m doing pretty good then, with 13 in two months πŸ™‚ I had a look – your 1-star reviews are actually not bad, just people thought it was something it wasn’t (which perhaps is feedback for the blurb?)

  10. I’ve been meaning to read it, because it seems right up my alley, but I need to read a few other things on my list first. When I do read it, I will most definitely post a review!

I feel bad but I’ve been to busy to read more than I have but when I finish I will write a review. I did get thousand+ impressions for the tweet so I took a look and your book came up in the ratings so your blog helped with sales and you weren’t even going for that. How many sales did you have? A lot I hope! Promise, when I get done reading your book I will do a review. #172 in satire is great! Come Thanksgiving you’ll be #one! Hang in there!!

    • Hi, Olivia! Sorry, I really didn’t mean to put any pressure on anyone to buy or read – just thought would be a reminder for those who may have read already.

I’ve decided to keep it at $0.99 until Thanksgiving, and have been getting a 1-2 sales per day – that’s how many it takes to keep at about 130-170 mark in Satire. Eye-opening, huh? Come Thanksgiving, it’s definitely getting up there! Will be interesting to know what it takes, as the sales needed sharply increase as you come closer to the top.

Your selling your first book at the rate of 1 to 2 a day is fantastic! Especially when you look at the world wide competition in selection on Amazon. You should be on cloud nine and pounding the keys on the sequel because that’s when all your fans will follow and word of mouth gets out that this is a great series. Sales will go dramatically up, just wait and see. Now back to brainstorming that sequel!

  13. Time to move on to another book. Let this one simmer. You have done really well, time for more Isa exploits. You have to have faith. Look at this way. Remember writing that first line, for the thirty third time. Didn’t you dream of getting this far. Now dream of the next step and make it happen. Enjoy the success you have and more will follow.

  14. You’re doing well…. I will download as soon as I can & I ain’t too proud to beg either so if you fancy a read try ‘The Community’ (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Community-S-C-Richmond-ebook/dp/B016F8F3DE/ref=sr_1_2_twi_kin_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1446914258&sr=1-2&keywords=The+Community) you might just like it. Good luck with all the promoting and I wish you all the luck in the world. Don’t forget you’re awesome, you were brave enough to put that work out there. Keep smiling πŸ™‚

  15. Hi Ana! I’d be happy to review your book =)

I’m in the process of reading and reviewing a book for another author right now, but after Thanksgiving, I’ll be able to purchase a copy of Shizzle and begin reading it.

I probably won’t be able to get the review up before Dec. 20 (I’m working on my submission for the Writer’s Digest Short, Short Fiction contest, which is due Dec. 14, and there is one more book ahead of yours).

On Amazon, the review will be posted under eponym, on B&N and Goodreads it will be posted under Khel. Here’s my Goodreads page: https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/14078415.Khel_Milam

I’ve added Shizzle to my “want to read list” on Goodreads, and as soon as I finish the the next book in the queue, Sam’s Winnings, I’ll make a post letting everyone know I’ve just purchased your book and look forward to reading it, and change the status to “currently reading.”

    All the best!

    -Khel-

      • Hi Ana,

No worries, not pressured at all. I just like to give those I make commitments to a heads up, if I won’t be able to fulfill the commitment for a while–I know the feeling of having people say they will do something and then they don’t.

I’m going to have to push back the review until Jan. An individual I owe huge a debt to needs a review. He was a complete stranger who was the first to answer my call for a review when To Thee is This World Given was released last summer. He also answered my call to help with my Kickstarter for my second book.

As always, I will purchase a copy for your book to review it. The review will be on Goodreads and B&N under my own name and Amazon under eponym.

      • That would be amazing, thank you! I am yet to publish on B&N, but that will happen in December, once I’m out of Kindle Unlimited clutches…
